El rector de la Universidad Tecnológica de Tlaxcala, Marco Antonio Castillo Hernández, acompañado por diversas autoridades universitarias, sostuvo una reunión de acercamiento con el Presidente Municipal de Huamantla, Juan Salvador Santos Cedillo, con el objetivo de estrechar relaciones de la colaboración en temas que beneficien a estudiantes del municipio.

La reunión se realizó en el salón principal de la propia Presidencia Municipal de Huamantla, donde integrantes de la administración municipal y universitaria expusieron diversos temas y áreas de oportunidad en los que el municipio y la institución educativa pueden sumar esfuerzos y fortalezas por el bien de la sociedad en general, como lo ha establecido la Gobernadora del Estado Lorena Cuéllar Cisneros, en el inicio de su gestión.

En este sentido, el rector Marco Antonio Castillo Hernández, subrayó la presencia e importancia que la Universidad Tecnológica de Tlaxcala, tiene en Huamantla, a través del Campus que se ubica en la Población de El Carmen Xalpatlahuaya, al ofertar carreras de Técnico Superior Universitario, Ingenierías y Licenciaturas con la finalidad de que estudiantes de nivel bachillerato tengan la oportunidad de que en un futuro inmediato mejoren su calidad de vida y la de sus familias

El Presidente Municipal de Huamantla, agradeció el acercamiento por parte de la institución educativa y reiteró su compromiso con la educación del municipio.

En la reunión también estuvieron presentes el Rector de la institución Universitaria Colegio Mayor de Antíoquia, Colombia, Juan David Gómez Flores, quien se encuentra de visita en el Estado para realizar lazos de colaboración académica con la UTT.

Cabe destacar que, durante la reunión entre la UTT y el Ayuntamiento de Huamantla, el cronista de la ciudad, José Hernández Castillo, ofreció un recorrido por el museo y palacio municipal en donde explicó la relevancia histórica que tiene esta alcaldía para el Estado de Tlaxcala.
